Artist Statement:

Exchange of intellectual thoughts and personal reflection in the face of another steep during tea time. This interaction infuses our existence with a greater sense of self and vitality. The social fabric of our existence is strengthened by the bonds we form with others. Time invested in relationships creates and maintains these bonds. Using steel wire as thread, elements of various shape become intertwined and bound together. The functional brooch that ensues, bonds the ends of the scarf to surround the body in comfort, warmth and security much like the support system threaded through the social fabric of our existence.
